They once stood close in the pouring rain,
Now from afar, they glance with disdain.
Like umbrellas, we’re used — then thrown,
Drenched in love, but left alone.
When they had needs, they spoke my name,
But when I wept, I bore the blame.
Now bonds with people come and go,
Like shifting winds, they cease to show.
Those who walked through every bend,
At the first stain, met their end.
No one asked how far I’d come,
A little dirt — and I’m undone.
To light the dark, I gave my flame,
But with the dawn, you left the same.
Now melted wax in shadows lie,
Half-burnt, I wait — with a silent cry.
I once held words with tender grace,
Turned them to letters, soft and chaste.
Spoke of pain and whispered scars,
But one small scratch — discarded, far.
No one looked back — not a trace,
Just walked away with colder face.
Now “need” defines what we call ties,
Once time runs out — the heart denies.
But I have learned, through silent art,
To smile while torn, and fall apart.
I fade into some corner deep,
Where used-up souls in silence sleep.
